Arriva North East
RE: Arriva North East
Thanks Kuyoyo. Hopefully I'll be able to try some Sapphire and Max vehicles in the Southern part of ANE's area later this year.

RE: Arriva North East - Jesmond
Nexus service 3 finished yesterday. From Tuesday service 553 is recast to cover the 3 route but with revised timings.

Vehicles on the last day of service were 2602, which performed the last run through to Broomfield Avenue, and 2824 on the very last run which terminated at Walkergate.

Parked down the side of Jesmond depot yesterday were new Streetlites 1592/95/96/98, 1600/01. All carry fleetnumbers but no registrations. Also just visible inside was new decker NK15 ACF which is due to become 7534, I believe.

RE: Arriva North East
Streetlites 1590/1 entered service on Tuesday at Darlington's Tindale Crescent outstation on the X1. On the latest allocation sheet, they replace MPDs 1711/98 while sister 1592 replaced 1304 with moves to 'Under Repair'.

A move not shown on any fleet list yet is the transfer of Dart SLF 1301 (X475 GGO) to Redcar depot from reserve (via Ashington as cover for Streetlite familiarisation) as a replacement for B10BLE 4504 (V504 DFT) which is withdrawn due to major engine failure.

RE: Arriva North East
And they've been out on the X1 since then on the Darlington - Tow Law workings.

RE: Arriva North East
From pictures I have seen on Flickr, the main routes for MAX Scania OmniCities are X15, X26/27 and X66. I thought some were due for Arriva's allocation on route 685.

Also, I have seen pictures of Sapphire Streetlites on routes 4, X3 and X4. This indicates that some Temsa Avenues may have changed route or even garage. Have any left for a new garage yet?

4645-8 are branded for the X26/X27 and therefore should only be found on those routes.
4649/51/55-7 are branded for the X66 and should only be on there Monday to Saturday, on a Sunday the X66 interworks with the 26a (the evening and Sunday version of the X26/X27) therefore a mix of either branded vehicles should be out
4643/4/50 carry 'quick links to and from Darlington upto every 20 minutes' branding for both routes.
4653/9 are the pair at Ashington for the X15
4652/4/8 are the only 2005 OmniCitys unrefurbished (as yet) and are at Stockton for the 21a
4660-4 (the 2007 batch - except 4663, these are the leather-seated examples) are the ones at Jesmond on the 85/685

I'm sure I've covered that before:
Redcar will always be the home for the Temsas (although as of midnight, 4701 is now allocated to Whitby as a spare bus for an additional X93 trip on a morning), and as such, they are due the 6 ex-dealer stock examples from Arriva Bus and Coach in the coming months to replace B10BLEs.

Thank you for these clarifications Kuyoyo. As there are only 2 MAX OmniCities on route X15 I may be wiser to concentrate on locating one in Darlington instead.

I know you list transfers regularly, but as I don't remember many fleet numbers I didn't notice that in practice all Temsas had stayed at Redcar. Having MAX Volvo B9TL-Geminis on route X93 will be rare if not unique within Arriva!

Durham have placed Streetlite 1597 and another into service in unbranded Sapphire livery - the first time any new Sapphire vehicles have been used in service prior to branding.

RE: Arriva North East
Well, it's been all go this week:

The 'MAX X1' Streetlites were formally launched this afternoon (Thursday 23rd April) in Bishop Auckland using Euro6 Daimler-powered 1593. It's expected all 5 should be in service from tomorrow.
The rest of the 2015 Streetlite order - Sapphire-spec 1595-1601 - have now all entered service at Durham depot on services 22 (Durham-Peterlee-Sunderland) and 24 (Durham-Peterlee-Hartlepool) in unbranded condition.

In a major cock-up, the allocation of the Sapphire Enviro400s has now been changed:
7535-7/40 are now branded for the 7 and will be based at Darlington (7540 was originally intended for Durham depot)
7539 is presently branded Sapphire in the style of Ashington-based spare 7518 (and Rhyl's 2 spares) but only temporary pending the 24 branding vinyls being delivered - it will remained at Durham
7534/8's status is currently unknown but one of the 2 will now be allocated to Durham depot rather than Darlington depot in place of 7540

Stockton-based MAX-livered Pulsar 1442 has now had its advert frames removed. Sisters 1441/3 are also due to have theirs removed prior to the application of the X12 branding (as of Monday 20th April, the X2 has also been renumbered X12) as I'm lead to understand that the X12 will feature some 'additional' branding over the other MAX routes.

Despite the arrival of the Solos at Stockton depot, the depot is still up one vehicle with Cadet 1904 still in use. Until May 17th, one of the originally doomed Cadets (1903 despite the allocation sheet showing 1904) remains to cover the additional weekday journeys on the 6 as the Pulsar used between 0930 and 1600 goes to work the extra X12s. From 18th May, the am journey on the X12 to Framwellgate Moor will instead be on the front of a 21a running board while the shortened afternoon journey will now start in Durham Bus Station and will be operated by Durham depot.
