Think it probably helped them to get buses onto either 157 or 256 in the daytime, although I know they would need 3 for these routes.

RE: Warrington Coachways
Just seen an ex Howards Travel Dart on 156 in St Helens so it looks like Warrington Coachways are still running that and the 256.

RE: Warrington Coachways
Had a pleasant day out around Manchester yesterday with forum member 2829, we used Warrington Coachways to get from Warrington to Altrincham. Ford Transit SG11 UPL was allocated to our morning journey, which was a very pleasant trip. Dennis Dart/Marshall M89 DEW was allocated on our return in the evening, again another lovely trip.

The main thing is, at least they're trying to keep the service running with limited vehicles at their disposal, apparently due to a large amount of their fleet requiring work or MOT.

The 156 and 256 are currently being operated by Fairbrothers of Warrington.

Is this a permanent thing or just an emergency contract?

Timetable confirms that Nuttals and Fairbrothers are operating the 156 and Fairbrothers the 256.

Do Fairbrothers have an ex Howards Travel Dart as well then? I was too far away to ID it this morning but a Howards Travel livery Darts, was on the 156 with the usual window cards arond 08.40 so I assume this is the Fairbrothers working.
