RE: Halton Transport
To echo the comment made about the Halton ELC Mylleniums, #35 was on the 44 today and I managed to capture this video, sadly it's iphone 4S quality due to lack of camera, but shows the great speed and sounds they can achieve. (link) There was a large number of students left stranded for the 46 due to Pilch Lane being closed, and no information given to the users of the service or the bus company. Route 46 is currently missing out a very large section between Pilch Lane and Tarbock Road roundabout |

RE: Halton Transport
They do go well but they don't look the best....one of the less visually attractive buses out there.. |

RE: Halton Transport
Just to confirm 28 and 29 are both fitted with LED displays, I agree that the ELCs are certainly not the best looking busses. But lets be fare there not Marshall Capitals! |

I like 71 .as well to be honest, not the best bus ever but it has the most character out the lot. Anyone think we may see 71 and 72 back in service again? I know I have asked many a time but who knows if Halton take on any extra school services they may be needed. |

RE: Halton Transport
#71 has 'character' because it's got a serious gearbox fault and it's unreliability often left it depot and morning school service use only (Where it also frequently failed). #73 is by far the best of the 70's batch, and it's reasonably reliable #75 is okay, slow, but okay (A frequent am 44 and 17/A vehicle) #71/72 will probably not be making a return with the arrival of the recent Optare Solo's. Plus with #71 coming up to its 15th birthday, it can no longer be used on merseyside school contracts that Halton may gain next contractual season. |

73 and 74 will be the only older darts used for the next twelve months I'm afraid.. |

There's a Solo out on the 14A right now. Just seen it at the 5ways heading towards Widnes. |

RE: Halton Transport
Saw #35 break down on the 17A this morning. It just arrived from St Helens at Green Oaks and broke down. The passengers were shifted onto the 14A which had also just arrived behind it, to take them to Vicarage Road. A few minutes later, #26 came by and picked up the 17A route towards St Helens. |
