RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
Think you'll find folks that 709 has pretty much always been allocated to winsford, it started in macc but then buggered off. Now they've got 707 this week, as an asides point really do wish we could get shot of the centros. Their described by quite a few drivers as being cheap & nasty, plus seem to have regular breakdowns. Many a time i've been waiting at northwich, when the driver returned from his break & ready to resume service couldn't get a centro started sometimes for 5-10 mins in some cases. Do the DLAs have no heating upstairs at all, now its getting a bit chillier, riding the likes of 4143/4096/4156 etc the upper deck heaters don't appear to work at all??? |

I'm sure that the DLA's have heating upstairs, never really thought that they were cold when I used Bootle's last winter. |

This has happened to me too many times! They always take a little kick to start up! They are cheap and nasty IMO, Almost EVERYthing on them is plastic, but then hey - That's just modern buses these days! |

Well VDL stuff in general is v good & they build the pulsars/cadets/commanders etc. Personally myself i'd rather winsford got pulsars or the wright commanders i.e. 2621-2625 etc basically a long wheelbase cadet but a lot comfier & quicker than centros, although that been said i've had 2619 do 55+ on an evening 37E run! |

Saying that, Try getting a long wheel based bus around the likes of Mt Pleasent Drive in Moulton, or Moulton Village itself, they're not really practical. |

True hence why smaller buses like the darts are perfectly suited to such routes, have u ever seen the adl darts stagecoach use i.e. these http://www.flickr.com/photos/35114850@N08/9931407773 Gorgeous buggers, fairly quick & very cumfy yet still would suit the likes of the 31/37s |

2515 and 4143 both broke down today on the 31/A. This meant that the 15:15 and 15:40 29 from Northwich didn't run |

Heads up folks, if anybody on here uses the 37 sandbach-northwich & return service big bit of advice: Head out very early if I were you, caught the 37 from sandbach this morn but it didn't turn up until 08:15 then eventually arrived northwich 20 mins late at approx 09:25!! Now I know a lot of this is down to the school kids/traffic etc but also its caused by the roadworks in winsford & the junction by co-op in northwich is having some work done as well. Also does anyone know how near is 4056 to a revival, remember it being mentioned few days bk that its receiving the gearbox from 4040 so hopefully close now??? |
