RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
According to merseytravel no buses will be serving the Beechwood estate until further notice due to a police incident. This includes Arriva's 418/419, 492 & 495 services.

I saw two T reg ALX heading towards Laird Street yesterday and there appears to be more buses than usual parked at the back.

Plenty of DLAs out on today's rail replacements with Southport, Wythenshawe and Bolton providing the ex-London buses. Of these, 4012 (DLA2) made a very rare appearance on Merseyside, likely for the first time since it visited Southport for the Flower Show shuttles a few years ago. It was absolutely superb as well, with a distinctive roar under braking and a smooth, quick ride. Bootle offered a selection of their Enviro400s which were mainly used on the Birkenhead Central replacement; the Birkenhead North variant was a mixture of older stock.

Noted the following in use: 4000, 4012, 4028, 4058, 4062, 4063, 4064, 4074, 4083, 4097, 4201, 4202, 4413, 4416, 4428, 4433. Parked near Birkenhead North as spares were 2424, 2433 and 4419. A further spare inside Birkenhead depot was 4026.

I'm sorry but DLA2 was awful, It had a great turn of speed, but it stunk of diesel in the lower saloon, and the "roar under breaking" was some form of fault that was not addressed, and the panel behind the driver's cab with the electrical circuitboard inside was pulled off and leaned against the back of the cab suggesting it had had some electrical work done whilst here, or removed otherwise by passengers

Spare bus 2424 was used on Rails later in the day

Each to their own - I thought 4012 was excellent. Certainly a lot better than 4000 which by comparison was sluggish, rough riding and internally grim.

4058 was lovely my mate was driving it it was very fast only problem was when braking it would pull to the right which was a bit dangerous
