Favourite Commercial Jet Engine
A question that I have wanted peoples opinion on. What is your favourite jet engine on a commercial aircraft. Mine are the Rolls Royce RB-211, the Pratt and Whitney PW4090, The GE CF6'S and the CFM 56. In that order too. |

Definitely the RB211 on a 757 for me. Horrendously overpowered but that's just what makes it! The CFM 56s certainly pack a punch on the 737s too, they're like little pocket rockets. ![[Image: 1chYP.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/1chYP.jpg)

For me it's the Lycoming ALF 502 used on the BAe 146 |

The 787's engines are very quiet. But yeah, the RB211's are the best! Worst is possibly the PW JT8D's on the old 737-200's. Very unreliable although did generate one hell of a racket!! |
