The 5 will then likely be Pulsar-worked from Stockton depot and OmniCity worked from Whitby depot. As for the X66, Darlington's OmniCity allocation is two of the ex-North West examples (4644/5) and currently 4 native examples (4647/54/6/7) which are being joined by 4 from Whitby next weekend (4651/2/8/9) which may also work the 75/76 (given the Ikuras DAFs are looking like they're on their way to joining the Prestiges in their dying days). The V-reg Coaches from the X66 are mainly now on the X15/X18 (1207-9/14) while the ex-Ashington ones (1210-2) are on the 685 with one of the X66 coaches (1213) and one that was originally supposed to be refurbished for the X66 but instead went to Jesmond when 1214 had its accident (1206). Will still be 4664 at Durham (unless that also moves northwards, as yet it's unclear if it's just Stockton's 3 or if it's all 5 07-reg examples). And, slightly off-topic, what Stagecoch E350Hs? If funding is approved, Stagecoach are following Arriva and going for Gas with the Scania K230UB/Alexander Dennis Enviro300. RE: Arriva North East
I note that I may have got the exact spec of Hybrid buses for Stagecoach wrong. Back to Arriva, and I have now advanced my Middlesbrough trip to May as planned. The great British weather can be better in May than August, and it will be light later! I shall thus come early enough in the year to ride a leather-seated OmniCity there, and late enough to ride the Dales bus from Richmond to Lancaster on Sunday. I hope to ride an EcoCity in Darlington that Sunday, but can ride one in Runcorn at some stage anyway. |

Even if funding is approved for the Stagecoach hybrids, as the decion won't actually be made til May it's highly unlikely they will be in service til much later in the year anyway! |

Saw 4513 V513DFT Volvo B10BLE/Wright in Brampton today on the 1554 685 Carlisle -> Newcastle. Externally looked very good and sounded very good and did not appear to be showing its age at all. Any particular reason why this choice of vehicle is chosen when there are problems with the usual V reg coaches 1210-1213? |

Solid reliable vehicles the B10BLEs, that and there's not much else at Jesmond that could be used! |

OmniCity 4661 spent the majority of the day on the 7 and would have been the first OmniCity to operate the 6 however it was swapped off for the more usual 1911. Your roving North East reporter, bring you the latest news from Arriva North East, Stagcoach North East and Go North East.

RE: Arriva North East
I am preparing to brace myself for May in case the leather-seated OmniCities operate on a route other than route 5. My best bet is probably to wait at Middlesbrough bus station and ride one on whatever route I need to. I shall still have time to do the Saltburn area and a Temsa Avenue by daylight later. |
