Manchester Community Transport
Manchester Community Transport
Manchester Community Transport (MCT) are a Manchester based community transport company, mainly specialising in accessible transport. This includes the likes of LocalLink (an alternative to Ring and Ride, which is door to door public transport, aimed at (but not limited to) the disabled and elderly). They also have another side of the business, buses! they currently run a few services in the south Manchester area. This year (2013) they are expanding hugely, with the purchase of Tyrer's rochdale division and with a purchase of Maytree (Of Bolton) on the cards (kinda confirmed but don't want to say yes in-case it falls through). But this is not all, they have won quite a few tendered routes this year too this includes the likes of; _____________________________________________________________________ Serivice Number | Destination | Company Previously Operating _____________________________________________________________________ 307 | Stockport - Bramhall Circular | Stagecoach 18 | Altringham - Trafford Center | Arriva 159 | Middleton - Oldham | Bluebird 44 | Manchester - Airport | Bluebird 197 | Manchester - Stockport | Stagecoach 395 | Ashton - Newton Heath | Bluebird 84 | Manchester - Reddish | Arriva 169 | Ashton - Southern Cemetery | JPT 378 | Stockport - Grove Lane | Stagecoach 22 | Stockport - Bolton | Stagecoach/First _____________________________________________________________________ This in in adition to the routes they already have, the routes tyrer's run and the routes Maytree run. This year is going to be a huge year for MCT, they are soon to become one of the biggest players in Manchester! |

RE: Manchester Community Transport
Im not sure which days theyre getting it on (197) but presumably sunday or evenings... |

RE: Manchester Community Transport
197 is the Sunday service currently operated by Finglands, the 84 is the Monday-Saturday evening journeys between Manchester-Chorlton journeys currently operated by Arriva. The 18 is also Monday-Saturday evenings only. Would also imagine that since MCT have got the 307, then the 308 will also be included (just not mentioned in the registration) |

Possibly, we shall see. But for a small community transport company, they have still done well this time round. I wonder if they will get any more later this year.... Ive been told tenders come up half way through the year too... |

Hardly a 'small' operator these days as discs on their licence was increased from 20 to about 40 some time ago, latest increase in business should see a new application for further additional discs in time. |

RE: Manchester Community Transport
yes but most of those are minibuses, small in bus scene. They mainly do locallink, they also do 2 patient transfer ambulances iirc And as for more vehicles a few weeks ago an enviro300h demonstrator was in their depot... So they must be buying some new buses... and they will need a few more minibuses too |
