RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
I think the Myllenium are a bit hit and miss, some are ok and some arent, interestingly I dont think that 2461 is that bad and as a daily 81 user I have probably ridden them all but 2456 and the Bolton ones now, one or two of the ex Birkenhead ones do leave a lot to be desired. The V-ENC's, well cant say I'm that keen on them, most of them are crashy and I would struggle to name one I actually like. |

Roy McMillen reports that 3313 was picked up from Speke today for transfer to Laird Street! Never expected that... Justice is finally here. Rest In Peace the 96, You'll Never Walk Alone.

RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
I might as well chuck mine in here, I have to.say Im a big fan of the DAF Cadets, superb buses if you get a good one and if you get a bad one they arent the worlds worst. Sadly I dont ride on them as often as Id like due to them being so far out of my way. Ive been on 2419 a few imes in the past few months and it seems to be getting worse for rattles, but it still goes like stink with the right driver Im told! As said, the interiors are rather nice and bright, even though I like my old dark drab Darts because Im strange, as a passenger, Cadets win hands down. Myllenniums are hit and miss, on the whole they seem to be very rattly, but I do like them if they make all the right noises, 2461 really stands out, but I havent had the pleasure for a while. ALX300s are the same, I prefer them for their noises rather than the build quality and how well they hold together and ride. LS have apparently been left very short with Enviros heading off and all, hence 2456 has gone into service, it is a surprise to see 3313 head over the water though, it seems this one will be a bit of a survivor and march on for another few months yet, which is nice to see!! Hopefully, it'll be first to go when the first Gemini 2s enter service. View my new Flickr Updated! |

RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
Can't help wondering if this is connected with problems getting 4025 and 4076 out on the road? I've seen neither in use so far. Either way, 3313 is not a good bus by any stretch of the imagination - a horrible rider.

RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
I can confirm this morning that 3313 is indeed at Laird Street. I'd imagine youre right 507009. That's up to allocation, 90% of passengers would probably agree that a step entrance bus is better than no bus! I'd imagine it will spend most of its time on the 464 like the remaining palatines used to live on when still in service here, that way the most part of the route is covered by frequent low floor routes.
