Today was the last day of Merseyside operation on the 597... that will probably be mentioned in a future update. the trips extended are the evening/ sunday trips, another risky thing as all the buses in the area are tenders or are only going that way for a fast route :P oh well hope it works out for them For Blog Posts Containing all the latest in the local Bus Scene The 2002 Bus Blog Subscribe to my Youtube Channel, Updated regularly! RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
Valid from 25th February 2013: 102 (Aintree University Hospital - Broadgreen Hospital or Page Moss) Monday to Saturday daytime buses are shortened to run between Aintree University Hospital and Page Moss only, so buses no longer serve Black Bull. The times are changed. http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/travellin...02013).pdf (The change to the 102 is in order to improve reliability as the existing timetable was, with traffic conditions, very difficult to keep to times apparently especially during rush hour) 258 (Stockbridge Village - Huyton circular) The times are changed. Some extra, early evening buses are introduced, funded by the Department for Transport’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund. http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/travellin...02013).pdf buses7675 http://dartslf.com/ Light up, light up as if you have a choice,

That 102 has been on a gradual route reduction for a while, Started off going to Walton Bus Depot, can't remember if it turned round at Cavendish after that, but then went all the way to the City Centre, think it was shortened again back to Cavendish. Then Black Bull and now the shortest of all. |

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
Am I right in thinking that the Crusader Darts at Gillmoss were originally bought new by CMT for 102 as I remember they always seemed to be on 102s and very rarely found their way onto any other routes |

As my name suggests the 102 is my favourite route right from Day 1 when it started. I drove the route with CMT Buses and HTL in recent times. Evening and Sunday service usually operated by Volvos as per drivers requests. And we had 4 buses on it on evenings and Sundays. Now just 1 bus on a shortened route!!! Remember the evening and Sunday 102 used to have alternate extensions to Huyton Elizabeth Road in Merseyrider days. When Halton had the route they terminated it at Walton Flyover. A couple of years ago I wrote an article for merseyside Bus cub newsletter on my experiences of the route. I have electronic copies available if anyone interested |
