I knew they were temporary, but the original announcement from the operator referred to the 730s entering service to allow the 350/2s to be withdrawn, and leaving the Liverpool route once the southern depots had been trained on the 730s. But the MD did talk about doubled up 350s for Liverpool and said doubled up 730s wouldn't work on that route.

Don't know how long ago that announcement was but it's been known since at least September this year that at the timetable change the 730s would move off the Liverpool to Birmingham route.
