Well, no. You said biggest event, full stop, so it's your ambiguity not my misunderstanding. The point stands regardless.

Anyway, a great example of a much busier event by night is the erstwhile Mathew Street Festival. 300,000 - 350,000 used to go to that, and the festivities often went on well beyond midnignt. I don't remember a flurry of night buses for that occasion, either.

You really do love being obtuse, don't you. I made what I thought was a reasonable suggestion and you sought an argument.

Regarding the MS Festival, from 1995 until it was cancelled in 2007 there was a fairly extensive night bus service across the LCR.

No argument sought at all, merely correcting an erroneous claim. The Mathew Street Festival continued until 2012, by which time the former night bus network had disappeared, so there is a precedent for not offering later buses beyond major events.

The powers that be will also fall back on the fact night buses were tried a few years back on the QBP routes in the run up to Christmas, but it was largely a loss-making failure with very few passengers.

As Eurovision isn't expected to be in the same league as many previous events in Liverpool, public transport provision was never going to be spectacular. Personally, I'm pleasantly surprised they're offering an all-night 500 and later Merseyrail trains.

It doesn't say the 500 will be operating all-night, just that it will operate from approx 4.00am to 1.00am, which it already does. The only enhancement would be that it may operate every 15 minutes.

Revised details of late night bus services for Eurovision can be found on the Merseytravel website which makes my last post a bit redundant now. Some additional services are now provided by Stagecoach MCSL.

RE: Eurovision Song Contest 2023
Who will be operating the free shuttle bus between the Eurovision Fan Zone and the Pier Head?

Who will be operating the Park & Ride service between Stanley Park to Queen Square Bus Station?

Who will be operating the free shuttle bus between London Road, Queen Square and Liverpool ONE?

Will the ARRIVA NIGHT BUS services be operated from the same depot as the daytime services or will they just operate from one depot? I take it that STAGECOACH will operate from their respective depots?

Pretty certain Stagecoach are operating the shuttle services.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.
