Yesterday morning and this morning local radio was reporting there was a rail replacement on that route owing to unit shortages!
Must have started running after the bulletin maybe?

150s are being used to cover for a 175 shortage. For example, 150285 is currently working the 16:51 Cardiff to Manchester.

Only 1 x class 230 is out each day at the moment and as staff are still getting used to the train, it is picking up delays and often has some form of cancellation or early curtailment.
The buses are therefore being kept on in a bid to help keep people just because of the ongoing delays and cancellations with the 230s. Saves them having to source buses last minute when things go wrong. It's a good system I think and one that I will certainly give credit to TFW for.

I'm convinced the whole misbeggotten D78 conversion scheme would have gone in the "laugh and tear up" file without Adrian Shooter's name attached.

RE: Transport for Wales Rail
I think today for the first time the hourly service ran with one 150 and one 230 but the last train, which should have been the 150 is cancelled due to stock shortage according to journeycheck, but speed restrictions according to RTT.
