Southport Flower Show 2022
In view of the current Arriva bus strike is any other bus company taking over the services from Birkdale and Southport Station to the showground? All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |

RE: Southport Flower Show 2022
So the probable answer is no as it is getting far too late to organise the number of buses and staff required. It does not help either that Merseyrail are only operating an hourly service from Liverpool Central on Thursday. Walking will only be for the fittest and with rain due I can see a massive drop in attendance which will hit stallholders hardest. All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |

Maybe if greedy transport operators put the needs of their staff ahead of the increased bank balances of their shareholders for a change, it wouldn't be in the sorry mess it is now??? I'm afraid most transport companies made losses in 2020 and 2021 due to huge drops in passenger revenue during COVID. The problem is the unions want an annual pay increase based on inflation when inflation is high and based on profit levels when inflation is low. I recall a number of years back a union agreed with Stagecoach Manchester 4% one year and 0% the next, instead of 2% the proposed each year. Then when the next year came around they started arguing Stagecoach were greedy for freezing their members pay. |

Apparently it is being subcontracted to other operators. |
