Well maybe D&G have designated drivers for Euro V and Euro VI vehicles and they have different driving styles. Both SL64 JGU and YX14 RZA went past me at lunchtime today. The first while going up a hill, the second on a flat road and I noticed an exhaust smell from the second but not the first. Strange it was that way around, if you can't smell the difference isn't it?

I know when I drive tendered services TFGM supervisors sometimes check the age of the Vehicle being used but how would they know if an engine was euro 6 or not?
All contracts awarded since at least Sept 21 require Euro 6. Operators declare emissions status in the fleet lists supplied to TFGM.

RE: Greater Manchester Tenders
Can confirm that Euro 6 is a requirement from TfGM. Have a copy of a Service Specification document for the new 44 starting on 24th April for 3 yr 3 day, with max age rating of 15 years and min euro rating of 6.0. Also min capacity of 57.

Also it is expected that Manchester departures will be typically 21 mins past the hour from 6:21 to 18:21 (7:01 is different time) and Altrincham departure at 52 past (6:52 to 17:52). Sadly no mention of operator from what I can see.

RE: Greater Manchester Tenders
So if the min capacity is going to be 57 then whoever is going to be running 44 will have to run it with either full size singles or double deckers be interesting to see who has won the new 44 contract/tender and what vehicles they will use.

It would be strange for a contracted service to require 57 seats on every journey. Maybe the 57 relates to journeys which will carry school pupils, who won't pay full fare but will need a considerable number of seats.

I think a decker running a 44 from Altrincham to Manchester will be a bit like the old 378 running from Wilmslow. For much of the day you'll be able to count the number of passengers on it leaving Altrincham on your fingers.

RE: Greater Manchester Tenders
There is a key bit of information missing here. Is this a 57 seats or overall capacity 57.

Different areas do it differently. Of course 57 capacity would mean a stock 8.9m 200MMC would be fine to use (30 seats + 27 standing according to Chartwell Bus Sales)

Now you say that I'm sure someone said before that TfGM contract based on total capacity, unlike Cheshire East who contract on number of seats.

Also confirmed the 2 hourly Sunday 288 won't continue to be interworked with a 88, with the funding for the 88 being withdrawn.
