An aging fleet. Many of the Solos at Eccles become too old for tenders come September. Im surpsed no Streetlites have been ordered for Eccles to allow the older Solos to be replaced unless the big StreetDeck order will free up enough vehicles to replace them. |

The streetdecks won’t free up enough smaller stuff for Eccles though. It’s almost like it’s been forgotten. |

Posted by DBNW earlier : 'Delays of up to 16 minutes on average on the 163 both ways due to heavy traffic both ways on Rochdale Road, apologies for the inconvenience caused'. Now who was it that encouraged increased car use and demonised public transport as dangerous?. Perhaps the whingeing punters need to direct their anger in the Westminster direction. |

I found out a reason for the 163 being messed up at Langley there 2 sets of temp traffic lights within 100m and there not setup to be 3 way as there t junction so buses get past first set then have to give way but no one will let bus out as they fight to get ahead in the next set of lights. ended up with 3 buses all running within secs of each other. |

The active travel measures were being pushed by central government even before the pandemic and local councils were told to introduce such measures without any advance warning. Many dual carriageways in the Liverpool area have been reduced to single lanes to enable several pop-up bicycle lanes which, incidentally are barely used. Consequently, there is is now a lot of congestion that is having a serious impact on all traffic especially bus operation in and around the city. |

Trafford Council have behaved similarly on huge stretches of the A56 between Altrincham and Old Trafford. The impact on the 263 timetable is obvious. |

With the weather being as it is now and getting cooler the chance of the Open-Top operating is slowly dimishing anyway its off the road at the moment having a new engine fitted with one being donated from an ex Prestonbus Trident. |
