RE: Diamond Bus North West
I can see some confusion coming up with bus fares on Diamond Bus services from next Sunday, after the takeover of First's Bolton depot.

The existing range of First tickets will be adopted by Diamond Bus, including the Night ticket, SuperSaver weekly ticket on the 36/37 route and the Rochdale Road tickets on services 162/163. The SuoerSaver ticket will be extended to include existing Diamond services 26, 29, 35 and 79 on sections of route between Walkden, Swinton, Salford Shopping Centre and Manchester.

Services currently operated by Diamond that are subsidised by TfGM will continue to be charged by the current Diamond ticket range (£4.60 day, £14.50 weekly). First/GNW tickets will not be available on those services. This should mainly apply to services in Trafford. Presumably, the £5 day ticket would be valid on existing Diamond services.

Diamond are also introducing a Wigan weekly ticket, available at the same price as the current weekly ticket, which will be valid on services 9, 583, 607, 613, 630, 635, 638 and 640/641 plus services 132 between Wigan and Tyldesley and services 576/715 between Wigan and Aspull.

Looking at the TfGM timetables, the services that are subsidised by TfGM, and therefore will continue to offer the existing tickets are:
  • 9 (Evenings)
  • 15 (Early mornings)
  • 26 (Evenings)
  • 27
  • 29
  • 35 (Evenings)
  • 65
  • 66
  • 73
  • 79
  • 84
  • 95 (Sunday daytime)
  • 132 (Evening/Sundays)
  • 245 (0640 Saturdays Stretford-Altrincham)
  • 260
  • 261
  • 262
  • 272
  • 281
  • 282
  • 283/284
  • 285/286
  • 287
  • 516 (Evenings)
  • 576 (Evenings)
  • 583 (Monday-Saturday evenings)
  • 584 (Evenings)
  • 593 (Evenings/Sundays)
  • 607
  • 613 (0723 weekdays from New Springs)
  • 635 (Evenings)
  • 638
  • 640/641
  • 683
  • 694
  • 695
  • 715 (Evenings/Sundays)

Seems to be a fair bit of speculation elsewhere that these could be from a cancelled order for First Leeds (the First Leeds batch is up to 35582 at the moment and apparently up to 35637 were expected, guess we'll see if anymore appear there soon).

Does anyone know if the 10 Streetdecks will be ready for service from day one of the First Bolton takeover or if they will enter service at a later date?

The majority will need to be ready for service from Mon 12th, there are various DBNW buses already at First Bolton for driver familiarization including, Streetdeck 40700, Solo 20872, Citaro 33017, Streetlite 32301

Quote from Simon Dunn re: initial Pvr / fleet size etc:

Our PVR from 11/8 will be 148 increasing in September. The 11 StreetDecks, 10 Citaro’s, 125 loan vehicles and some internal transfers get us to a fleet of 170

Further fleet investment is under review and there are a number of moving parts we need to get comfortable on

I saw 40707 in Manchester yesterday. It followed route 18 & 41 northbound. I expect that, for driver familiarisation, it covered route 36 or 37 from Bolton to Manchester, was about to cover route 163 to Bury, then another route eg 471 or 524 back to Bolton.
