Well be sure to give the mice a pat on the back and a block of cheese from me, I could certainly get used to more days like that on the 79C. |

Sorry but the Pulsars need to go on the x30 because of heavy loading, How would you like it having to stand from Frodsham and Helsby to Chester or evan be left at Dunham Hill and Mickel Trafford because of the bus been full, Lets face it when the 82A went to 2 buses from 3 it was Cadets that moved to Speke while there were still older darts in the depot, The 79c turning short at Queens Sq meant to more Cadets move and not the Darts Same when the new Pulsar came they replaced other Pulsars |

Oh yes by all means, put them on the X30, however in my experience, I often wonder why they go in the bus way circulars, and I often struggle to see why they are needed on the 110 any more than they are needed on the 79C. I wouldn't like it, just like I don't like having to stand from Liverpool to Netherley when I very often do. Also wasn't to keen on being left behind by 79Cs and 82As when trying to get home from school last year (Pulsars passed me with standing loads before any school kids even boarded). I'm now becoming a semi-regular user of the 110 between Widnes and Warrington, often at peaks times as well, when loadings are nothing that a Cadet cannot cope with. I have no problem with the buses Runcorn have, however allocations do leave something to be desired sometimes. While I understand it is not the depots decision what stays and what goes, they could at least try to make the big boys in their nice offices and suits understand what buses should be allocated to the depot to best meet the needs of the passengers and the demands of the service. Like Most places fat cats who sit on there backsides all day in an office decide this is best for the depot when they havent been on the road for 20+ Years. Like the bosses in my work who think its acceptable to give us 3 15 min breaks in which time they expect you to be able to warm food up and eat it. I grew up with Tom and Jerry too haha. Bit gutted that my thumb doesnt swell up 30x bigger and glow red haha |

If I do go down the 'road' of bus management, I definitely don't want to be one of the 'fat cats'. I agree that allocations don't always seem to make sense there: especially on the busway, because if one (perhaps a little smaller) vehicle is full there, one can easily get on the next one coming! |

Forgot to mention, 2953 was on the 82a yesterday and has just passed me on the 79C today. The mice are still at play by the looks of things! Edit: 2950 and 2953 also on 79C Another edit: 7617 also on there, what a day! |

RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot
I decided to go to Runcorn today and see what allocations were afoot. I saw 1/2 Circulars 2536,2537,2538,2552 and 7642 3A/3C 2543 and 2548 21 2540 and 2545 79C 2514,2515,2525,2528,2529,2530,2539,2555,2950,2951,2952,2953 and 7617 82A 2531,2532,2534,2542,2547 and 2554 110 2523,2527,2546,2939,2949 and the unbranded 3137 X1 3136,3138,3139 and 3140 all branded X30 2522,2524 and 2940 I did not visit the depot so do not know what was there. I missed Pulsar 2948 - anyone know if this was in the depot today? - and Cadets 2516,2521,2526,2533,2535,2541 and 2553 though one of these was presumably the seventh working on the 82A which eluded me. I also did not see the current oddballs 2298, 2419 and 7632 but 7642 was a surprise. Sorry if all of this is 'old' news but I can certainly subscribe to the haphazard allocations! Should be grateful for news of the current status of 2948 the 'missed' Pulsar and for any observations. |
