Lets see, at the end of opts

6 x East Lancs OmniDekka's
1 x Wright Pulsar Gemini
2 x Trident/Plaxton President
1 x Trident/Alexander ALX400

That makes 10, but in the past there has been as many as 11 or 12 at various times.

1 x OmniDekka remains withdrawn at Atherton for now and another is under long term repair by Goodwins at Eccles, apart from that everything else has gone to Preston over the last couple of weeks with the other two destined to follow.

New Wright Streetlites

The following should enter service over the coming days:-

20157 SN68 AJT
20158 SN68 AJW
20159 SN68 AJZ
20160 SN68 AKA

All are B33F and are DF's not WF's.

Saw one on a 126 this morning - pleasingly in the new livery, a huge improvement over prison van blue!

RE: Diamond Bus North West
Went on a 575 in Bolton last week and the situation seems to have reversed since Diamond started operating on here.

When I first wen't on in the first week of Diamond operation there buses were quite empty but the Arriva ones reasonably full when I went on both a Diamond and an Arriva on Friday I was surprised to see the Diamond one carrying nearly a full load and the Arriva one only a quarter full? So the question should be whats changed????

RE: Diamond Bus North West
Could it just be a case of people getting the first bus which comes? People may have been slow to use Diamond at first as they were a kind of new operator to the area. Arriva had been around for a while so it's a case of changing peoples travel habits and promoting your prices etc.

RE: Diamond Bus North West
There has been a registration error with one of the new Streetlites

20159 has been registered SN68 AJS when it should be SN68 AJZ and has been used as such, SN68 AJS is also identical 20166 at Diamond West Midlands so potentially there are a pair of identical Wright Streetlites driving around with the same registration number (doh)...

So unsure what has happened, whether 20159 has had its registration accidentally applied, or whether the id is swapped with 20166 at Diamond West Midlands and their 20166 will become SN68 AJZ or whether 20159 will become SN68 AJZ as intended.

All the new Streetlites were registered at Wrightbus prior to delivery to Rotala & arrived with their number plates fully taped over. Unless Rotala have physically numbered SN68AJS incorrectly, it's not a Rotala error.

SN68AJZ is now numbered 20159 & allocated to Diamond Bus WM (Tividale) & is route branded for the 226.

I assume that DBNW's 20159 retains its current registration SN68AJS, but should *have* since been re-numbered to 20166.

Tividale have got the correct SN68 AJS and has not had to take any action with the vehicle.

DBNW have now re-registered there "AJS" as SN68 AJZ and it already carried the correct fleet number of 20159. It was an error from the factory rather than Rotala

RE: Diamond Bus North West
Yes have been advised of this, the registration change happened over the weekend and was in service on Monday registered 20159 SN68 AJZ.

I think the registration error happened at a sub contractor to WrightBus in England as the vehicles came through Heysham Docks with the registrations written on with Marker Pen, presume something has gone wrong here, either someone has miss-read the AJZ as AJS or the marker pen letters have smudged in wet weather.

All four buses are used now on a daily basis on the 126 Leigh - Trafford Centre and 132 Trafford Centre - Atherton - Hindley - Wigan services, allocation is usual three on the 132 and one bus on the 126, however today 30921 PN57 NFE is standing in for one of the Streetlites, for what ever reason. However these buses may not be big enough around Christmas time especially at weekends when often in the past double-deck vehicles were needed on some journeys, so will be interesting to see what Diamond do then, in the past additional deckers have been loaned from either Preston Bus or Go Goodwins to supplement Diamond North Wests own deckers.
