I do believe it was me who told you via YouTube, what a small world we live in! A huge shame that it has gone though, apparently there is a fault with the break retarder.

An 04 plate one by any chance? They were meant to come a while ago and be swapped for Solos but that never happened...

RE: Arriva Buses Wales - Chester Depot
Very interesting move by Arriva Diverting the 3 into Sandy Lane/Boundry Lane in Saltney (reducing the frequency again to every 1h 15). Also sending the 12 into Broughton Village somehow. With CWAC saying the 12 is terminating at Broughton Shopping Park, I would assume it comes from Mannor Lane, down Chester Road, right along Main Road then left into Broughton Village (And then follows route 3 into Broughton Shopping Park).

Surely the 3 has no use anymore now. Mold - Buckley is covered by the X4. Broughton Village is covered by the 12. Broughton to Chester is covered by the 4, X4 and 11. The only parts the 3 is of use for is Jubilee Road (the 1 bus stop on there is 100 metres away from the route 4 bus stop), Dobshill (which has a population of about 20) and Penyffordd (where the route is being reduced slightly). I get the feeling Arriva don't have long left and that Stagecoach are battering them.

Do you mean disappearing along this corridor or from Chester in general?

I mean depot disappear. 3 is on it's way out. 12s being shrunk to Broughton (sounds like the 21 story of shrink the route so less people use it then there is an excuse to drop it).

4 & X4 can be ran from Wrexham if there is space (Mold and Chester are 20 mins away from Wrexham so about 10 longer than Chester depot).
82s can move to winsford (they used to run one of the 82 duties so they can run the service).

Just blacons and 10s to look at.
10A is useless as it is only 10 mins quicker than the 11.
Saughall and Blacon could be given up as I get the impression that is what is keeping Chester depot where it is. Without Blacons and Saughalls, I think a depot move would have happened by now.
10s are half empty whenever I see them so can't make much. If need be could be ran by Wrexham but from engineering point of view, it might be difficult if a bus breaks.

Let's face it, Arriva don't have much left in Chester anymore. The 'money making' routes are those ran by other depots. 84, 11, X30 all do well. Arriva have no hope in winning tenders anymore as they want too much for them. As for their routes, Stagecoach have most the passengers. Route 9 for example £1 Connahs Quay to Chester. Arriva couldn't compete with that. (I think the £1 was tender spec so not Stagecoach' fault but the point is it will take people off the 10s). Though the route is less often, for saving £3.50, I would plan my day around it the 9 as would most people.

I agree I think arriva are going to get rid of Chester and can easily be done

1/1A could be given to stagecoach
3 it's on its way out
4/X4 could be ran from Wrexham just extra 1 journeys to avoid dead mileage
10/10A could be reduced and ran from rhyl just extra 11X journeys
12 is on its way out
15/15A could be lost to stagecoach
82 move to winsford
