Most places are only served by one "public transport" ie. Bus Operator, and that has always been the case. However, I said *land* transport, not public transport. EVERY bus route is competing against private transport (motorised or otherwise) and taxis; and some are competing with Rail. All these modes carry some kind of advantage over bus - whether financial, political, or social/media driven.
