RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
I also came across a petition opposing a planned reduction to 3 tph at Levenshulme, although service level commitment says 4, so possibly having difficulty squeezing the extra Greenbank, New Mills and Macclesfield trains in. |

No mention of that in the TfGM consultation document: https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/..._timetable According to a Northern driver who's seen the full Northern consultation document in the southbound direction Crewe, Hazel Grove, Alderley Edge and Buxton services will call at both Levenshulme and Heaton Chapel, giving 4tph. Buxton trains were originally supposed to be semi-fast service to reduce journey times but it looks like Northern have compromised on that so that Levenshulme and Heaton Chapel retain 4tph. |

However, to get between Lime Street and the Airport anyone with any sense would use the Northern Connect service or change at Manchester. Having two local services joined up will make it easier to make journeys such as Eccles to the Airport. |

This service certainly gives more connectivity from some of the Chat Moss stations ie Rainhill, Lea Green, St Helens Junction with the link at Crewe giving reasonable links to the South. |

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
Diabolical planning from Northern today shortening Chester services to 2 carriages when Chester Races are on. 10:17 Manchester to Chester delayed by over 20 minutes due to so many passengers trying to cram on a 2 car train. 11:17 Manchester to Chester ran non-stop from Altrincham to Chester due to being full |
