He was a pioneer of all night television back when it first started in about 1989.
His radio show on Leeds based Radio Aire and Preston based Red Rose Radio was simultaneously broadcast on the telly.
He pushed the boundaries to new limits.

I remember once the programme developed more towards television he used to have Piers Morgan and Boris Johnson on regularly and properly ridicule them.
Who would think that 25 odd years later one would be very powerful in the media and the other run the country!!!!
