Anyone know what happened to the 08.12 Liverpool-Manchester Airport this morning please? It appeared from maps to have failed at Broad Green in front of the first diverted London, but eventually got onto the slow at Roby with a 1Z99 from Lime Street going past and shunting in front of it. Next time I looked 1Z99 was just arriving back in Lime St, but the train itself ran through.

They appeared to be going to launch the Crewe TBRD when I got on the platform, but presumably aborted when it got going.

Fitter fixed it and it continued forward 319368

So the new Northern stock is to get seats matching the refurbished Scotrail 156s and that seat style will also be fitted to the 156s and 158s during refurbishment.

Great Western are retaining 4 diesel units that were due to come to Northern, These are 3 car 150001/02, 2 car 150202/16 ans spare toiletless cars 57209/12.
Northern have replaced these by ordering a further 3 x 769 FLEX.

What is the long term plan regarding the 319s/769s now? Originally Northern were to have 32 x 319s in their fleet at the December 2019 timetable change but were to return 5 x 319s once the final batch of 331s entered service in 2020. However, with wiring being delayed and some becoming 769s are they still expected to return 5 units in 2020 and if so will they be 319s or 769s?

I didn't think 150001 and 002 were supposed to be coming north?

For as long as I've known all 32 319's or 769's were sue to stay for the length of the current franchise.

The franchise agreement indicated all the Angel Trains 150s at GWR and LM would transfer to Northern, with the 2 x 3 car 150/0s joining, along with 3 x 2 car sets after the existing GWR franchise ends. It also indicates 5 x 319s were secured on a lease expiring in 2020 and 27 x 319s were secured on a lease expiring in 2025, with the 321 and 322 leases also expiring in 2020 and a batch of 331s joining the fleet in 2020.

However, GWR have those 12 class 150 carriages on a lease which would be automatically extended if DfT grant a further franchise extension and it's rumoured DfT will do that, meaning Angel Trains wouldn't be able to honour their agreement with Northern.

On Tuesday 150206 was noted in the new livery at Wigan North Western on the train to Blackpool North.
