That was one of former CEC leader Michael Jones' fantasies, even Crewe Town Council thought it was a rubbish idea and it's very rare for a town council to be against a scheme which increases the amount of public transport available in the town.

Some clowns & non-drivers / non bus-passengers think that "humps", etc., are "good for us", and inflict them on us because they have the power to do so. Pity we can't compel them to spend the next few years sitting on buses traversing "hump-afflicted" routes.

I seem to recall the 27 route buses that used to serve Astra Zeneca had to be re-routed through the Astra Zeneca site due to someone deciding to put speed humps in which old style Optare Solos couldn't go over without risking damage to the buses.
