Pioneer is the operating name for Firsts Dukinfield depot which operates on a seperate licence to the rest of First Manchester and has done since a VA reduction some years ago imposed by the TC.

Yeah I know it is a different licence, but im wonderiing th3 Rochdale part. .. dukinfield is ashton... oldham and bury depot share rochdale work

It's just the name on the licence. When First took over Pioneer travel/sports tours, it was for a while run as a seperate entity to GM Buses North/First Manchester and was called First Rochdale - on paper anyway. Eventually all became incorporated onto the First Manchester licence until the licence reduction some years ago when the dukinfield services were re-registered on the Rochdale licence.
