2 x Class 156 (or even 150s) could not be accommodated at Stanlow or Ince & Elton or on Platform 3 at Helsby.

ATW were initially going to provide stock, and a 158 was suggested, until it was pointed out that it's not cleared for the route.

Yes. 156's have made very rare appearances over the line.

Might be one of those wait and see things tomorrow.

But the booked traction (whether it happens in reality or not) is 2 x 156's.

The timing sheet I saw from Northern shows it booked for 2 x 156. We'll see what pops on it tomorrow.
