The 34 x 5 additional Class 377 ordered by Southern from Bombardier, Derby will be numbered as follows:- 377601-34 DC only units but AC can be retro-fitted for South London Metro services. These units are a replacement for the 24 Class 456 which are moving to South West Trains. 377701-08 AC/DC units. These are likely to replace Class 377/2 on duties such as East Croydon-Milton Keynes Central. These will allow a number of 377/2 to go to Thameslink on loan which should release a like number of 319s for re-furbishment. All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |
