i forgot to post what i was doing on saturday, i didn't end up going to wrexham but i did nip on some local runs, i won't do the occasional "ride winners" and "picture winners" post but i do have notes on the stuff i had so i'll just post them on here:


11 to Chester - Golftyn Hare & Hounds to Chester Bus Interchange - CX61 CDE 4481:
certainly a decent bus, sounded decent and we had a few kickdowns out of it though a roof panel rattle on the left got on my nerves, but this one is still one of rhyl's best despite that.

1A Blacon Circular - Chester Bus Interchange to Chester Bus Interchange - CX12 DTK 3145
i got on this bus as there was a fast driver i knew and thought about what kickdown would sound like on this bus (as last time i had this it had a really loud turbo leak), however the turbo has been fixed on it and it sounds healthy again, and it sounds absolutely great now, had a lot of kickdown out of this and it didn't rattle that much, only bad thing about this bus was idle shuddering but because of how good the bus was i didn't pay attention to it.

4 to Mold - Chester Bus Interchange to Mold Bus Station - CX58 EWY 2908
after doing some photos at the interchange i decided to jump on this bus, it was decent-paced but no kickdown unfortunately, the gearbox did sound fantastic though and there was barely any rattle, there was a roof panel leak causing rain-water to fill up on one of the bus seats infront of me but it wasn't too bad.

5 to Ellesmere Port - Mold Bus Station to Queensferry Station Road - CX07 CSZ 2642
brilliant bus! it was pelted and it got a load of kickdown, including a full kickdown in mynydd isa! and also coming onto the A494, the bus was fast and it was certainly a good sounding bus, best Pulsar 1 at chester imo.

10 to Chester - Queensferry Station Road to Chester Bus Interchange - CX15 BXR 4640
awful bus! it was VERY slow, it rattled a lot and the engine just sounded boring and the revs seem to be limited to a really low rpm, this is one of the worst ones chester have however 4645 takes the biscuit.

11 to Holywell - Chester Bus Interchange to Broughton Tesco - CX61 CCZ 4480
this wasn't too bad, the gearbox sounded fantastic and it sounded really nice, though kickdown seems to have been caped off this example as this dude put his foot down all the way to broughton, though it is certainly better than most examples at rhyl but there's better too.

4 to Chester - Broughton Tesco to Chester Foregate Street - CX58 EUD 2663
it sounded nice, barely made a single rattle, but it was quite slow and no kickdown on this bus too, shame really as with kickdown it could be chester's best example of the Pulsar 1s.

3 to Broughton - Chester Foregate Street to Broughton Tesco - CX11 EVH 999
this was the guy i had in 3145 earlier in the day, this bus is rev limited to quite a low rpm due to electrical problems (same goes with 998) but this guy knows his stuff he managed to bypass the rev limiter giving it some pretty high revs, it was fast, sounded alright. still not the biggest fan of this bus though but it's the better of the 2 chester have.

4 to Chester - Broughton Tesco to Chester Foregate Street - MX09 EKP 2935
i was pleased that this bus has turned up with it being my favourite pulsar in the whole world, it performs the same every time, kickdown to the maximum and was VERY VERY fast, bit of rattle there and some idle but nothing that bad, this bus has seemingly managed to knacker up it's differential though but it still is a beast of a bus.

10 to Connah's Quay - Chester Bus Interchange to Wepre Celyn Avenue - CX15 BXV 4643
this one was better than the other example i had in the day but it was just a typical CX15 plate Enviro400, very slow off the mark. barely any rattle featured on the bus but there was an idle vibration somewhere, it has got somewhat kickdown though as the revs made it to quite a high rpm along the trip.


pretty short day out but hey-ho!
