The best system would be for anyone who seems to be under 16 or wearing school uniform to be automatically entitled to child fare. Anyone who is deemed (by the driver, as has happened for how many years previously) to be over 16 should hold a nationally recognised card such as CitizenCard or some other Govt approved proof of age card. None of this 'you must live within this local are to get child fare here'.

Derbyshire is a classic example. Once the 237 operated by Stagecoach crosses the boundary ALL child tickets cease and the only option is an adult single or daysaver.
