They also didn't choose yellow branding for their Metroshuttle buses or the Leigh busway, so I'm not sure why people are saying buses will be yellow because the trams are yellow. Maybe because, like Metrolink trams, the Manchester Free Bus vehicles are also yellow. The fact that some Transdev buses in Bury & Rochdale are also yellow would just be a coincidence.
