It's just an easy thing to do though because they have the duplicate bus, just scrap 1 mode and reduce it down and when you look at the cost difference of route 1 against the trams, the tram probably comes off worse. That should be counteracted though by increased passengers per vehicle and increased general usage (since more people travel on a tram over a bus even if on the same route. The trams would have got the Gov payout as well if they had kept running longer. |
