In 1924 a Crosville route started Birkenhead Park-West Kirby, one route via Claughton-Upton-Greasby-Newton then Grange Cross Lane & Column Road to West Kirby another route formed via Moreton-Meols-Hoylake, with many journey's operating as a circular. Autumn 1959 this changed to F34 Birkenhead Park-Liscard via West Kirby F37/F38/F39 Birkenhead Park-West Kirby/Newton There was also an F32 introduced via Greenbank Road then & current 437, peak hours only 1979 this changed to 81/82 West Kirby-Woodside via Upton-Claughton PTE covered the Moreton section by extending the 7/8 & 28 to West Kirby & Newton to become 7/8 New Brighton-Newton 28 Mill Park-West Kirby In December 1985 there was a major reorganisation of routes, West Kirby was one of the areas affected by the changes, 7/8, & 81/82 were withdrawn, 28 cut back to Moreton & renumbered 40, new routes 37/37A/38/39 introduced, which were 37/37A New Brighton-Woodside via West Kirby, this was a joint PTE/Crosville service, Crosville operated short peaks West Kirby-Woodside, & some evening & Sunday journey's, 37A was evening & Sundays covering the 38/39, the 37 replaced the 81 as well as 7 & 8 39/39 Woodside-West Kirby Circular, Crosville service Monday to Saturday daytime only, this replaced the 28 & 82 Orrysdale Road, Bridge Road to Column Road was railway sidings, with a station for the Birkenhead Railway until the 50s, the through road wasn't built until the early 80s.
