I think off lease is probably the wrong term. Lease terms often allow a unit to be returned before the lease end date if it is no longer required. They also usually allow an extension of up to around 12 weeks to allow for delays in the delivery of new units/infrastructure changes.

According to the lease terms the 142s should have all been returned to Angel Trains by now but the leases doesn't actually end until 31st December 2019 and then there's the option of retaining them until March 2020, which I think has been taken up for some of them.
