I do hope once the paraolympics are over and the Enviro200's return hope the plan isn't to dump them on the 236/7, although the 217/218 and 345 could cope with them.
I've also noticed AZ have a 3rd Solo although I'm not too sure on fleetnumbers. I'm told one will be used on the 390, the second on the 342/4 and the third as a spare/taxi as was the case today. Presumably the extra Solo has been freed up from the loss of the 300 in Stockport.
Could this spell the end for 40660
Sorry to say that could well be the plan. Once the Enviro200's return some older double deckers are leaving Ashton I believe, and with the MAN's going now as well that leaves some gaps.
The third AZ Solo is 47559 (MX08GJJ). It's been used on the 342/4 once or twice. Could also be used on the 390. 40660 is next to useless these days as it's manual and there's not many drivers trained to drive it. 40166 was brought in to replace it, though I've never seen it in use.
That's what I fear and I hate the bloody things
47559 is normally used in Glossop and has been for a good couple of years now. A second was brought in some weeks ago to replace the Dart used on the 342/4. I'm not 100% on the fleet number but I'm sure it ends **772. Today a completely different solo was in use in Glossop and when I enquired with a pal who's a driver at AZ he reckons the 3 should be permanent. Not forgetting the 202 requires 2 Solo's on a Sunday, having a third solo would make driver changeovers easier.
Getting back to the Enviro200's, I'm fairly certain the 347 will stay double deck operated, it seems to run a lot better and there's certainly less over crowding.
it would be 47622 as given on fleet list
