I am fully aware of that and the fact that it is (German) state-owned doesn't change that fact that Arriva is not publicly owned. It is driven by the profit motive in order to support GERMAN public transport not British. Arriva cannot and will not run an unprofitable bus route to provide a service for the sick, elderly and the poor.
