My refurbished Metro rides were in card 4041 and 4058. Given that the line around South Shields is closing next Saturday for just over 3 weeks, my decision to go to Newcastle last week and to London for the Olympics bus services next weekend, rather than viceversa, has proved vindicated. It was bizarre that the station decor at Haymarket has been refurbished but the ticket machines not replaced, yet they have at some other places like Fawdon. It would have been such good publicity to have a flagship station in the city centre. |
