RE: Arriva Buses Wales - Bangor Depot
The Lowlanders do indeed fit when they sometimes appear on the route, the Volvo Olympians were quite regularly used before the service gained the dedicated Pulsar 2's. |

Depends what kind of sign it is saying 12'. There are a couple of different height road signs that are different but look similar. You have a maximum height road sign but you can also have a 'width of headroom' road sign, which is going to be more likely in this case with it being an arch. |

Although as you say it would make sense to have it, there is no "available width" marking on the arch (possibly because of it being part of a UNESCO world heritage site). Instead, the triangular warning sign stands by itself on a pole immediately before the arch. By itself, my understanding is that this is just a warning: if you pass it with a taller vehicle, and it fits, then you're OK. However, further pootling around Google Street View shows that there is in fact also a circular prohibition sign outside the Post Office, about 80 yards before the arch. (Seems a strange place to put it, since it's way past the point of no return for a large vehicle on a one-way street!) Anyhow, AIUI this means "No vehicles over height shown", i.e. you're not allowed to pass it in a taller vehicle, regardless of whether or not it fits. Presumably Arriva must have an exemption - I recall Arriva Southport having one in relation to the 7.5 t weight limit on the former railway bridge on Rufford Road, so presumably something similar applies here. |

The 7.5tonne weight limit on that bridge in Southport only applies to goods vehicles. Buses and coaches are allowed over. If the weight limit is on a picture of a wagon then it only applies to goods vehicles, as is the case on Rufford Road. When the weight is displayed by itself inside the red circle, then that prohibits any vehicle over that weight passing through. |

When I used to take Atlanteans over it, it was just "7.5 T" in a red circle - I was specifically told by the Ops Manager that we had an exemption. The sign was still there in 2009 according to Google Street View, but I haven't been along that road in many years, so it may well have been changed to the wagon-specific one since then. |

Interestingly, the northbound one is the goods vehicle version on Street View images from the same date! I can only assume that changing one but not the other must have been an oversight. |

RE: Arriva Buses Wales - Bangor Depot
I've noticed on a lot of the Bangor cadets expecially the 07 reg buses to have a very squeaky and nosey dodgy suspension. 2637 broke down due to its suspension today and 2631 sounds very similar.. is this a common fault |

It's been reported on Facebook that Enviro 200 MMC demonstrator YX65 RKK is on loan here for 2 weeks and will be out on service 13 on Monday. |
