Yorkshire Tiger have made some contract gains in Halifax following the review of services in the Calderdale region by Metro, while the cross-county service between Halifax and Rochdale will continue, albeit as a Monday-Saturday daytime service with a limited Sunday service, which will be re-numbered as X58. From the end of January 2015, Yorkshire Tiger will take over the following services: *504 (Halifax-Denholme) *507 (Halifax-Claremont - renumbered 34) *513 (Halifax-Mixenden) *526 (Halifax-Shelf - currently operating as 539) *546 (Halifax-Warley Sunday service) *547 (Brighouse-Huddersfield) *560 (Halifax-Commons - evening service) *561/562 (Halifax-Ripponden circulars via Sowerby Bridge or Barkisland - replaces services 531 and 557/559). *571 (Halifax-Bradford - evenings and Sunday mornings) http://wymetro.com/consultation/busreview/calderdale/ |

I had considered coming to Halifax to ride Barkisland routes (including the E8) in November but I shall now postpone until these Solo SRs are in service. These are elegant, but the blue reminds me of BlueStar in the Southampton area. It may have been intended to match Flying Tiger buses. I prefer it to Yorkshire Tiger orange but would have preferred K-Line to have been absorbed into Yorkshire Tiger (or even Arriva Yorkshire). |
