Stagecoach Manchester
RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
The MMCs on route 34 having high-back seats will contrast favourably enough with First Volvo B5LHs when the Leigh Busway opens. It also distinguishes them from examples a Sharston. I expect the forthcoming ones at Hyde Road will have standard seats.

Although routes 380 & 381 usually see Stagecoach standard Solos, I have seen a few TfGM Ecobuses on route 173. I saw such Ecobuses on routes 309 & 328 today.

Can you clarify your comments about 380/1 - especially times/days? I've seen very few standard Solos on 380/1, and of course to regularly allocate them would be a breach of contract. However, there are punctuality issues on Eve/Sun 309/10s, which will be sorted by withsrawing the Cheadle Heath shorts in a fortnight. Consequently, it might have been agreed that interworking is acceptable on Sundays until then. The 173 has also been a GBF route since 1st September, and it is disappointing that Primos still appear on there. Transferring tenders to Stagecoach used to guarantee improved performance, but that doesn't seem to be the case any more.

If the GBF route contracts are the same as the ones that MCT were given/agreed too then thier probably being used as cup coasters as they carnt seem to take them seriously and use GBF vehicles on GBF services!

As for comfy seats, I'm assuming the seating will be similar to the seating on Firsts Enviro400's?. I travelled on one last week on the 350 which despite it's young age (2012) looked rather vandalised on the top deck, with graffiti on the rear of each seat and rather a lot of burn marks suggesting smoking is still rife.
I like the idea of mobile charging points for phones etc but if it's anything like the on board wifi I imagine it will be hit and miss.

The 173 was coverted to Hybrids from September, rather than July, to allow for work to be done on the buses, which iirc transferred from First Queens Road to Stagecoach Middleton. I understand TFGM met MCT a few weeks ago to discuss a number of issues including vehicle allocation.

Yes I heard they had been summond to TFGM HQ, pity the green contacts are still often seeing regular Enviro200's allocated to them while TFGM owned hybrids are working non green contracts such as 395/396 and 159!

Apologies for taking the thread off topic slightly.
