I've just looked at the timetables for these services and don't really understand why some of them have not used the daytime terminus. At this time of the year most of the punters are going to see the route number and assume that the bus will go to its normal terminus. The N10 will terminate at Prescot rather than Huyton, the N53 at Waterloo rather than Crosby and the N86 Allerton rather than Garston. I think that this has the potential for difficulties for the drivers. Having said that, at least it's better than nothing.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
Today in my local free newspaper, the Bootle Champion, there is a short, rather badly written article about forthcoming big changes of services in Bootle and Netherton. In the article it states that Merseytravel set up its stall last week in these two areas to inform and explain these changes to local residents. It states that Merseytravel services 20, 21, 55, 61 and 242 would no longer be tendered and that they would be operated by Stagecoach or Arriva. It also refers to Avon's 135 and the new 63 route. It also reports that these changes are to come into effect next April.

I am confused. Can anybody shed any light on this article or the extent of these changes? I know that on the VOSA thread Arriva services 54, 55 and 58 are scheduled to change in January? Are there any other changes in the area planned for April?

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
As of January, the 53A is definitely being pulled. Not ideal really but it's just how it's going to be. The 62 will just run between Bootle and Penny Lane with the new 63 covering it between Bootle and Crosby. The 54 is being changed slightly - change of finishing points in Liverpool and extra journeys (probably to compensate slightly for the loss of the 53A) I believe. It should really have been changed to form some sort of circular route in Thornton for "stranded" Edge Lane passengers in my opinion. The 63 will be every 30 minutes and will include lates and a Sunday service (Merseytravel are subsidising the service on a de minumis level for a few reasons as far as I know).

Merseytravel seem to have a few proposals from April regarding merging the 130/210/250 into a 30/30A and the 157/158/209/259 to an amended (and confusing!) 157/158.

2944 was involved in quite a serious accident with a truck (damage to its chassis). I know that it's already been reported but this is just further information. It's expected to be back at about February.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
Merseytravel are certaintly looking at most of the remaining work that they have to see what is needed and what can be combined into one big route .

The one thing im in agreement with now is that the routes of the service continues on into the evening as merseytravel work should have the same number as the daytime wherever possible , unless there is a significant destination change at one end of the route .

Could this be the reason why the 84/5/6/7/8 of Avon's have recently been split into small chunks as some routes will still need a little bit of help.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
I am just wondering whether Merseytravel are going to bother to update there timetable changes screen , just that the last update seems to have been on the 14th November.
If your going to do something Merseytravel do it properly.

Normally when the date has past for the changes they will disappear but the changes for the 17th and 30th November still appear to be on this page .

Ace Travel's 500 timetable seems to be outstanding as well for the 20th December.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
Apart from the 500 issue, the only reason I can think that they haven't updated the page is to not confuse people with the heap of changes that are forthcoming in January (as reported in VOSA thread). Although admittedly this would be a lame excuse though.
