Arriva St Helens Paint Shop & Repair Centre
RE: Arriva St Helens Paint Shop & Repair Centre
The renown's were refurbished shortly after being put on the 89 (2010ish) internally with new seat sponge and new moquette trim, sadly however the paint looks a bit battered mainly due to the removal and application of saints branding and the likes of 2709/15 being one of the first buses to receive the new livery

There are X reg cadets out there that have never had a repaint since their original one nor any refurbishment of seats

It was only some of the Renowns which received those works to my knowledge and of those, some were not done in their entirety, only having the worst seats replaced. It's evident those which haven't been done just going by the smell present on boarding!

I think the state of the paint is more down to 14 years wear and tear as opposed to the Saints branding though; some don't even have it and those that do have only had it changed at most once when they revised the design of it.

Further to the earlier posts regarding the Enviro400s and internal refurbishment, I had 4417 and 4419 today on rail replacement duties. Both were particularly smelly upstairs with faded seats. A number of the 58 plate Enviro400s have been a bit 'odour-ific' for a good couple of years now and some of the 09 platers are starting to join them.

I just think it makes sense, if you're going to repaint these buses, to give them fresh seat covers as well.

I agree, it is plain daft to have the bus with a nice repaint looking smart except for it to look a bit worn inside.

Excellent update as ever, so 2209 the first of the x-anc's/hja/obn darts to go and that is something we may see a fair bit of over the next 18 months. No sign of 3098 so I'm guessing that has gone elsewhere for repair.
