None are likely to leave for refurbishment until Southport's new deckers begin to arrive as it would likely leave them short, particularly with the schools starting back.

When is it southports new deckers arrive? Winsford could really do with the B7s soon as our original batch of DLAs 4143/4156 are rather tired & 4027/26,have also had probs.

Southport's are due this month according to Arriva North West's Facebook page. Now that Speke's have all been delivered, Southport's shouldn't be too far behind. I'm sure one of our Southport posters will let us know when they begin delivery and eventually enter service.

The ops manager was out and about on Southports services a few weeks back getting feedback off passengers and he said he is expecting the new deckers at the end of this month and should be in service by October.

If i've understood the above correctly correctly it'll be approx end oct/nov when the B7s arrive at winsford then maybe? Think copey mentioned they'll be having a quick internal refresh before joining us.

For now we've still got 4143/4156 & 4030/98 as well as 4215/4216 although 4216 hasn't been about past few weeks now so assume its ill again. Anyone shed some light are the B7s any better/more reliable than a DLA? Spoke to an arrowebrook driver in chester a while bk & he says the volvo engines pull quite well.

I doubt the B7s will have an internal refresh considering they had one before they first joined Southport, unless they plan to fit Wi-Fi or other features. An external repaint would seem likely though as they will need to be debranded.

The Southport B7s have struggled, but those at Speke have been reliable throughout their lives. They do have a good turn of speed, certainly superior to that the new Enviro400s seem to have! They're internally better than DLAs with better seating and more standard layout, but ride quality is difficult to pick a winner. Both and DLAs and the B7s have a very good ride quality IMO.

4098 was on the 84 this afternoon. Also noted was 2 84s running together Crewe bound, out of Chester, at 9am.
