Reserve Solo 47009 can still be seen on Workington (and presumably Whitehaven) locals.

Dart 34218 has now been returned to service at Lillyhall ex Reserve. Presumably this is to replace 35247 which is now up for disposal (what happened to this by the way?).

15683 is at Morecambe parked in the top corner.

Thanks - it obviously hasn't quite made it to Barrow yet.

15683 went to barrow on loan for the 6/X6 due to roadworks and now at morecambe for the forseeable future after it has been serviced and repainted as it is still carrying route branding for the 300 workington-carlisle.

34218 seemed to receive a lot of attention in the Carlisle workshop a few weeks ago and I wondered if it was going back on the road.

I seem to recall that a Dart SLF had a fire a few months ago in West Cumbria (though I cannot recall where I heard this!) but this may have been 35247.

Just found this on Cumbria Fire Service website:

Bus on fire in Cleator Moor(Copeland)1 May 2013
At 08:35 firefighters from Whitehaven, Frizington and Workington attended a bus on fire in Galemire, Cleator Moor and used two hose reels to extinguish it. Police were requested for traffic management.

Yes, 35247 is being scrapped with fire damage. 34218 is the short term replacement until September service changes when it should be going onto new minibus work. A long term replacement isn't required due to service 31A being scrapped and replaced with hourly service 32.

27766 and 27767 are both on the 685 Newcastle service today. I see that these two have bus seats whereas the 59-reg Enviro300s at Carlisle have semi-coach seats. Most of these have now been repainted without route branding and I wonder if they would be more suitable for the longer route.

The spare B10M coach 52629 is on the 79/179 Dumfries/Annan so I assume it is only 52626 and 52627 transferred to reserve?

52629 is officially reserve, but remains in use as a spare for 685. I believe the Enviro300s are only a short term measure.

Thanks Michael.

If 27766 and 27767 are only short term, do you know what else is planned?

No idea I'm afraid, beyond that the service is staying low floor, and something more suitable will replace the ADLs.

27766 and 27767 are both on the 685 Newcastle service today.

The low floor revolution on the 685 Newcastle did not last long, as 52629 was on the 1207 from Carlisle today and I later saw an ADL engineer working on 27766 at the depot!

Also today the 38 Silloth had Olympian 16650 and B10M 20960 - I saw a double-decker on there on Tuesday as well. 20944 which is usually at Penrith was on the 93 Bowness and the 104 Penrith was all single-deck with 24116 and 24124 on Center Parcs and 34687 and 34711 on Gilwilly. The two Tridents will be needed again shortly on the 104 as the schools are back next week and Newton Rigg college the following week.
