New Buses for Arriva North West and Wales
RE: New Buses for Arriva North West and Wales
Apparently its a seperate order now according to the North West Bus Blog Facebook page. Then the other EcoCity's will go to Runcorn and then the rest for Darlington up north.

What services they are going onto in Manchester is unknown.

I've heard that some eco-buses are going to Bolton for the 10 in 2013. I wonder if they'll be EcoCitys...?

They're supposed to be Volvo B5 hybrids from the same batch due to Birkenhead.

Luke's correct, they're to be the B5 Hybrids, not Eco-Citys...
Quote:Manchester Service 10

Arriva Manchester will take delivery of 11 new Volvo hybrid double deck buses, which will be used on the busy service 10, which runs between Manchester and Salford.
This proposal was supported by Transport for Greater Manchester, and is consistent with the aims of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities’ Local Transport Plan, to utilise emerging low-emissions technology.

Indeed, but this figure of 21 gas powered buses which suggest EcoCity's isn't in the original statement from memory. I can only assume they may be as part of Tfgm tenders and of cause Runcorn's allocation?

The figure is the total for the entire Arriva operation - 10 for Runcorn and 11 for North East at Darlington. Same with the figure of 153 Hybrids, for the entire empire rather than just the North West.

This article in the Daily Post has this quote:
Daily Post Wrote:Arriva Buses Wales will have invested more than £10m since 2009 when its next batch of new buses is delivered later in the year.
Does anyone know anymore about this if it’s true?

Many more pulsars at GL and avoiding one of the things will be almost impossible, with the exception of a few commanders that is all GL will have in about 2 years time. I don't even look at what pulsar I get now as I just don't care.
