Colin Gibb, the longest-standing member of pop band Black Lace, has died at the age of 70. The group were best known for their 1984 novelty hit Agadoo, which reached number two in the UK. Black Lace also represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1979, finishing in seventh place with the song Mary Ann. |

Doctor Who original cast member William Russell has died at 99. he was best known for his role as schoolteacher Ian Chesterton in the long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.He appeared in the show’s first episode, “An Unearthly Child”, in 1963, As Chesterton, Russell appeared in Doctor Who’s first two seasons before leaving in 1965. He reprised his role as Chesterton in 2022 when he appeared in Jodie Whittaker’s final episode, “The Power of the Doctor”. That marks the longest interval between television appearances as the same character in history, with Guinness World Records stating: “The longest gap between TV appearances is 57 years 120 days, and was achieved by William Russell as the Doctor Who character Ian Chesterton in ‘The Power of the Doctor’ episode, which aired on 23 October 2022." He also played Ted Sullivan, Rita's late husband in Coronation Street. |

Apollo 8 astronaut Bill Anders, who snapped one of the most famous photographs taken in outer space, has died in a plane crash at the age of 90. Officials say a small aircraft he was flying crashed into the sea off Washington state. |

The Northern Ireland singer and entertainer Rose-Marie Kane has died. She was 68. Originally from County Down, the entertainer released 19 albums. She sold out the London Palladium on several occasions and appeared in The Royal Variety Show. She was also a television and radio personality and was a former judge in the BBC talent show Go For It. |

TV and radio presenter Dr. Michael Mosley has been found dead, he was aged 67. On Wednesday, he left Agios Nikolaos beach on the Greek island of Symi to go for a hike but did not return, following five days of searching, his body was found near Agia Marina beach this afternoon. RIP. |

One of France's best-loved singer-songwriters, Françoise Hardy, has died at the age of 80. She became a cultural icon who inspired the likes of Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. Her most famous songs included All the Girls and Boys (Tous les garçons et les filles), It Hurts to Say Goodbye (Comment te dire adieu) and My Friend the Rose (Mon amie la rose). Her biggest UK hit was All Over The World, an English-language version of her song Dans le monde entier, which reached number 16 in the charts in June 1965. |
