RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot
Bus 4690 Audio Announcements Fitted

Information
This bus will play safety messages:
On a bell press
When Entrance doors open
When someone is on the stairs

Driver Operated Audio Announcement
To the right of the drivers seat, you will see a round black but-
ton.
You can press the button to ask customers to clear the wheelchair space. When you have someone in a wheelchair about to board.. Supposedly this is a short term trial to see if safety can be improved (I doubt as most passengers like to stand up and walk when they should remain seated). In hindsight I get the idea but I’m not too sure on this, especially when school kids are on board

This type of stuff is bad enough on trains & at rail stations [that make it mandatary for me to listen to music on my headphones when using the rail network] without adding it to buses.Hammer

I remember TFL trying this on their buses a few years ago, which ended up being scrapped after a few weeks after most passengers got irritated by it.

Any idea what is happening with 2160 please, been nearly a month since it tracked although the usual Bustimes disclaimer it could be running about tracking as something else..

It's getting some money spent on it apparently , I saw it on on one of the Facebook groups where a driver and desk person had mentioned it. (Credit Ryan Low)
