D&G Bus
RE: D&G Bus
The 38 will be completely seperate as it's worked by a different depot. On Monday to Friday there are 3 duties and on Saturday 2 duties. Drivers keep their bus all day. One of the duties works 09.30 to 19.40 It does the 10.15, 12.15, 15.15 and 17.40 from Macclesfield. Meal break is from 14.09 to 15.10 in Macclesfield. Runs back empty from Handforth. At the moment there is no interworking with other routes. As suggested some times are to cater for workers, also allowing more time in the peaks helps with reliability. One of the 88s, the 16.50 from Altrincham is timed to sit in Wilmslow until 17.35 for that reason to allow people finishing at 17.30 to catch the bus.

I don't really see the 11:45 working as an anomaly. It's a 60 minute frequency in the morning, reduces to a 90 minute and then returns to a 60 minute frequency in both directions. It's similar to how the High Peak timetable for the 19 operates following the subsidy reduction and means a reduced frequency service to allow for driver breaks rather than a 'missing service' like used to be the case with the 300 Knutsford Circular and the old GHA commercial service between Macc and Congleton.

Possibly the first and last service times are because some people work on Saturdays and when Cheshire East did the bus review some people commented that a 17:35 last bus from Macc was too early as they finished work at 17:30 and that only gave them too little time to make the last bus.

What Buses are D&G using on the 38 Crewe - Macc and how is it doing for Passengers? With D&G operating the Sunday Service it gives it an edge over Arriva

3 of the long ex-Manx Streetlites were branded for the 38 route, so presumably they are the first choice bus for the route.

I'd say Arriva are the best option for workers - on weekdays D&G have one pre-9am arrival in Crewe, which only starts at Congleton and their last bus out of Crewe is 5pm. While Arriva's service starts when most people are still in bed and continues until beyond when most people go to bed.

Although with D&G you'd only need to make 3 return journeys in 7 days to make the weekly ticket good value for money.

RE: D&G Bus
Confirmation the 130 Saturday service is under contract to Cheshire East.

Also a mention that 75% of 130 journeys are fully within Cheshire East, 9% wholly in GM and 16% cross-border

That is not what the link in the previous item says- it says Centrebus have bought them.

The notice in D&G offices states Mr Reeves sold his shares to Julian Peddle's Centrebus

RE: D&G Bus
Three ex Centrebus Solos have appeared on the fleetlist with blank in the livery column
124 MX05ENF x 351
125 KX55PGE x 264
126 KX06APY × 221
shown as at Adderley Green - no idea if that means something is to be cascaded to Crewe/Wincham or for branding.

3 buses need to move to Wincham this weekend for the 130 starting Monday. Enviro200s 53 and 54 are earmarked for the route No idea what the third bus is as yet

The timetable only appears to need 2 vehicles, unless the 3rd is to cover Mon-Fri driver breaks?

I wondered if they might have sent up the other two plain red 'T reg' Versas from Adderley Green to allow for higher peak loadings.

I've seen the 188 school service a couple of times recently and that seems to carry around 40 this academic year (it was closer to 30 in the last academic year), so they'll need to ensure that stays as a large bus. In contrast the 88 arriving in Knutsford at around 08:15 isn't as rammed as it was.

RE: D&G Bus
Drivers on 130s will keep the same bus all day hence the use of 3 vehicles. There is interworking with the 88 at the end of the day Monday - Friday. The 88 at 18.15 from Knutsford will work the 19.00 130 from Macclesfield. On the run out sheet an Enviro200 is now specified for the free bus/188 duty
