Some people may work in their neighbouring towns, but none of Skem, Kirkby or St. Helens have enough shopping / leisure / entertainment facilities to attract loads of regular "leisure" passengers, and none of them have much traditional affinity with each other. Skem has some affinity with Wigan, Liverpool & Ormskirk. Kirkby has affinity with Liverpool, Liverpool & Liverpool. St. Helens has affinity with Liverpool, and to a much lesser extent, Warrington, Wigan & Widnes. So, no point in running bus services unless lots of people will want to use them. |

RE: Stagecoach MCSL - Gillmoss Depot
Any bus service now operates if there's a cash flow on it, local authorities can comer in & tender a service if they feel one is socially necessary, & given current austerity local authorities are cutting services left right & centre, i doubt they'd be a regular cash flow for any Kirkby-Skem service to be successful.
