Hadn't previously noticed that after Christmas the Allerton arrival and departure lines become bi-directional giving an alternative route off the depot through platform 1. Seems rather remiss of the yellow peril not to make specific mention. |

As stated previously in Mike Stones post this will allow trains leaving Allerton Depot to run through Platform 1 on their way to Lime Street. Another new signal is on the down slow Platform 4 at the Speke Junction end. This allows access to the now singled curve to Garston Junction and the Freightliner Terminal. I do not think that the curve has been used since the fire in Garston Junction Signal Box many years ago. Its reinstatement begs the question why? Could it be that Freightliner are planning to reintroduce liners to Seaforth which was the last time that the line was used on a regular basis? All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |
